Splitting_
From the previous assignment, I used the rectangular line formations to extrude a surface with multiple elevations. Starting from the top left corner; every rectangle to the right either dropped by 1 half elevation or increased by 1 half. The surface took its form as rectangular shapes accumulating by splitting elevations by half either to the left or right of each section. Later accumulations where experiments with certain sections of the whole.
The installation installed within the Faculty of Environmental Design initiates from the ground floor and reaches to the sky. Like a plant, the installation excels towards the sky lights gaining power by each floor it rises. The rich shadows of different geometries scatter throughout the atrium allowing the veiwer to experience the installation at any vantage point within the four floors. The idea is to focus one’s eye on the interlocking shifting geometries in an upward movement.
